This is why identifying the most suitable photographer to tell that day is really essential!

How to choose the photographer if you want to get married in Ischia

If you have identified Ischia as the location for your wedding, it is important to know that the island will give you the opportunity to choose between different professionals, each with a well-defined style and very clear ideas.

Since there is no reference studio in Ischia to turn to for the organization of the details, it is always important to rely on a wedding planner who will be able to guide you in the best possible way and provide you with all the necessary contacts to start to plan.

Entering a studio and selecting yours from a series of pre-packaged packages is certainly easier, but choosing and knowing individually the various professionals who will accompany you on the most important day of your life, will allow you to organize a truly special wedding, because customized.

To simplify the task, we met three professional photographers who work in Ischia and know the island perfectly, but also the wishes of couples, who try to realize through the lens of their faithful “companion”: the camera.

We know our three professional photographers best

  • Pasquale Cuorvo is from Ischia by adoption. Neapolitan, but madly in love with the Green Island, he has several collaborations in Ischia. Specialized in wedding photography, he is always looking for creative ideas for the realization of images. He pays attention to every little detail and is constantly discovering innovative and elegant materials for the creation of high quality albums. From 2009 he collaborated with famous photographers until his full debut in 2013, when he signed a contract with New York’s “Art and Commerce” for Vogue with a portfolio of exclusive images. In the same year he began to exhibit his first works, officially introducing himself to the world of national and international criticism. Since then it has begun to attract the attention of the public and famous faces of show business, such as Fabio Testi, Diego Armando Maradona and Miriam Candurro .

1. Which couples choose you?

«The couples who choose me are people who rely on my seriousness and professionalism, qualities that I love to put on the field right from the first meeting. These are couples who love to feel reassured and welcomed. Often the discreet way of doing things, the education and the smile mean that people feel at home and at the same time are serene, because they know they have entrusted the precious task of creating the images for their wedding day to a professional. . ”

2. What’s your photographic style?

«I don’t usually reflect myself in a particular “style”. My intent is to tell an important day in the best way possible starting from the attention to detail. The work is carried out with the utmost discretion, trying to be as less intrusive as possible and taking a step back in any situation, in order to capture the real essence of that moment and the emotions that arise from it. Mine is a dynamic and spontaneous story of the whole day, from the emotion of a hug to a funny gesture during a dance. ”

3. How important is post production work for you?

“Photo editing is a vast and articulated matter, but personally I like to leave the photo unchanged. My idea of editing is to take care of the shot in an excellent way but at the same time not to distort its essence. I am a lover of black and white and I am convinced that many shots are made on purpose to be represented in grayscale. Often the right combination becomes magic. ”

«During a wedding, each shot has its importance, but if I had to choose a particular moment, it would be the preparation of the couple. This is the most intimate moment, where the couple realizes the real importance of the day they are about to live, where smiles and tensions go hand in hand! Their personality emerges from those shots. ”

  • Simone De Sanctis lives and works in Ischia. His repertoire is vast (portrait, lifestyle, food). For this reason, Simone tries to enclose his passion for photography at three hundred and sixty degrees in his wedding services and this allows him to always be original and innovative, never banal. Care much interpersonal relationships, and for that always finds a way to meet the married couple long before the wedding day, organizing a mini photo session with them. A way to get to know and trust each other, and to make future newlyweds feel at ease in front of his lens.

1. Which couples choose you?
«Most of the time, young couples choose me, who have known my photography by seeing my works on the web, from the site to social networks. I really want to establish an informal relationship with them right away: a few pleasantries, just a lot of sympathy and ease.»

2. What’s your photographic style?
«The guys who choose me appreciate my dry, simple and direct style. For a wedding shoot my style is naturally created as a set of all types of photography that are part of my repertoire. In this way I try to tell the emotions of the spouses, expressing myself freely.»

3. How important is post production work for you?

«The post-production work must be used to complete my style: I don’t twist the photos, I optimize them. In a sense, through my images, I too am a witness of that day and what it represents for the bride and groom, with whom I always try to empathize; from my photos I want their emotions to be perceived. I don’t want to alter them. ”
4. The salient moments of a wedding are many. From preparing the couple at home to cutting the cake. What are the moments you love most to photograph?

«I believe there is no moment more important than another. What excites me and inspires me more than others, however, are undoubtedly the first moments immediately after the yes, the so-called outdoor photographs, far from everything and everyone. There the spouses realize what happened minutes before, in that moment they discover husband and wife for the first time and the light in their eyes is unrepeatable. In those moments I try to preserve their intimacy by intervening as little as possible. ”

  • Enzo Rando was born as a landscape photographer and in fact in Ischia his style is unmistakable, as well as the courtesy and kindness that have always distinguished him and make him a true professional. For years he collaborated with the publishing house Imagaenaria, as an author and producer of postcards and calendars on Ischia and Procida. Today Enzo works with studio photography, and mainly deals with food and interior photography. His talents, artistic and human, blend perfectly in his shots, always full of intensity and emotion.

1. Quali sono le coppie che ti scelgono?

«The couples who choose me come to me through ‘back streets’, such as the photos of food and interiors, which enrich my portfolio. What drives them to entrust me with the story of their most beautiful day, I think, is my very informal approach and the desire to immediately feel part of their important moment. I am convinced that the more coffee the photographer and spouses manage to drink together, the more the shots of the event will be able to be authentic and precious. To achieve an optimal goal, I think it is necessary to establish a beautiful relationship with the spouses, particular complicity. As if we were old friends from high school who have to spend that magical day together! ”
2. What’s your photographic style?

«I wouldn’t call it style. The atmosphere of that day leads you to achieve a result that can gratify you and the couple at the same time. In the wedding services my work as a landscape architect meets the activity in the studio and therefore the style comes out of the fusion of these two experiences. The wedding day is a story of images, with clean lines. I love working with assistants who share this idea with me, but above all who are discreet, attentive and brilliant. Someone who “watches your back” not to protect you, but to photograph what you cannot see at that moment. ”

3. How important is post production work for you?
«Doing a quick calculation, it can be said that he shot more in film than digital. I belong to the old school, so the perfect shot is the one from the start. I’d like to translate the post-production expression with “image color optimization”, yes.
Applying post production means creating the photograph later and this makes little sense if our eyes have already seen that image in preview, at the very moment in which the scene took shape. Today the user’s eye is used to a certain type of ‘filters’, I am aware of that, and I like them very much, by the way. But I don’t look for them for my photos, I like a certain purity of the shot.»
4. The salient moments of a wedding are many. From preparing the couple at home to cutting the cake. What are the moments you love most to photograph?
«The preparatory stages are truly exciting and unique, because there is no direction at that time. In the church the celebrant is the director, at the reception a staff is very attentive to ensure that everything works perfectly. At home no. There is that margin of unpredictability that is the maximum expression of the wedding day.»
